Norwich Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Teams Honored as Spring Scholar All-America Teams
The most recent award continues the well-deserved accolades received by the two-time defending conference champions. Scholar All-America Team honors are given to those programs which have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better in a given semester.
The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recently announced both the ֱ men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams have been honored as members of the Spring Scholar All-America Team. The most recent award continues the well-deserved accolades received by the two-time defending conference champions.
“The national recognition of both our men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams showcases these student-athletes’ dedication to being well-rounded champions,” said ֱ President John Broadmeadow ‘83. “Both of these teams are an example of academic success as well as champions in the pool.”
Scholar All-America Team honors are given to those programs which have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better in a given semester. The all-around success of the two programs is part of a well-balanced approach by Head Coach Jenn Cournoyer and her staff. “I am pleased that both teams continuously push and lift one another in the classroom, pool, and as a Cadet,” explained Coach Cournoyer. “We can’t take it for granted, and together, we get it done.”
Norwich Director of Athletics Ed Hockenbury was equally complimentary. “Congratulations to our amazing student-athletes from both our men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams, and to our coaching staff,” said Hockenbury. “The much-deserved accolades are a testament to the balanced emphasis placed on being successful both academically and athletically. It is not easy to achieve at the highest levels as a collegiate athlete, and this award recognizes them for their extraordinary effort and focus in both the pool and the classroom.”
